Super Eagles and Watford striker Emmanuel Dennis has called for calm and pleaded with supporters following their recent 1-0 defeat to Millwall. An early Zian Flemming free-kick condemned Watford to a fifth defeat in six Championship games.

The Hornets couldn't overturn the scoreline after conceding as early a the 3rd minute from Flemming’s long-range strike at the Den. The result leaves the Golden Boys sitting 12th in the standings.

“The result is disappointing for everyone. No one is satisfied with the outcome. We must focus on the next match and strive to put things right,” Dennis remarked.

Reflecting on the early concession of a goal within the first five minutes of the game, Dennis acknowledged the challenge it posed in trying to mount a comeback. He praised the team's effort in fighting until the final whistle but lamented their inability to find the back of the net and secure three crucial points.

“It's difficult to bounce back when you concede early. We gave our all, but unfortunately, we couldn't score or secure the victory, which was our primary objective,” Dennis explained. “We need to regather ourselves. It has been a tough period, with several losses, but we must remain united and strive to return to winning ways.”

The Super Eagles player also highlighted the need for composure during matches, noting that the team's eagerness to overturn deficits often led to rushed decision-making on the pitch.

He stressed the importance of adhering to the coach's instructions and maintaining a calm demeanor to create opportunities and capitalize on them effectively.

“We need to remain composed, even when trailing in matches. Rushing only compounds our problems. We must stick to our game plan, patiently wait for openings, and capitalize on them,” Dennis advised.
