Super Eagles prospect Madueke reportedly agrees terms with Premier League big spenders

Noni Madueke is reportedly poised to leave Chelsea for Newcastle United, as the Super Eagles-eligible winger seeks regular first-team football.

The move, which could be finalised for a fee matching Chelsea’s initial £29m outlay, would mark a swift departure for the 23-year-old from Stamford Bridge.

The Anglo-Nigerian winger, who joined the Blues from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023, has shown glimpses of his talent but has struggled for consistent playing time.

Despite contributing six goals and two assists in 29 appearances last season, Madueke was primarily a squad player, starting just 17 games and playing second fiddle to Cole Palmer.

St James' now, Super Eagles soon for Noni Madueke?

According to Football Insider, Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United offer a fresh start for Noni Madueke. The Magpies, who have rapidly established themselves as a Premier League force, are keen to bolster their attacking options and see Madueke as a valuable addition to their squad.

The fleet-footed attacker has emerged as a prime target due to complications in potential deals for Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville, of West Ham and Leeds United respectively.

The Chelsea man's international future is also a point of intrigue. Born in London to Nigerian parents, the winger has represented England at youth level, culminating in a key role in the U21s’ European Championship triumph last year.

However, the intense competition for places in the England senior squad, exemplified by the rise of Cole Palmer, could open the door for a switch of allegiance to Nigeria.

With AC Milan forward Samuel Chukwueze the leading light on the right side of the Super Eagles attack, Madueke could challenge for a prominent role with the three-time African champions.
