Super Eagles star Moses Simon has earned himself well-deserved recognition after reaching an impressive milestone in his Ligue 1 career.

The 29-year-old has officially made 150 appearances in the French top flight, a new landmark that truly shows his consistency and influence in the Nantes team.

Simon’s milestone moment came during Nantes' 1-1 draw with Angers, and the Ligue 1 Twitter account took a time out to acknowledge the vital role the Nigerian plays for his club.

Throughout his Ligue 1 career, Simon has been a key player for Nantes, directly contributing to 56 goals, with 27 goals and 29 assists to his name.

His blend of pace, creativity, and finishing ability has been instrumental in the team’s success, earning him a reputation as one of the league’s most reliable wingers.

This accomplishment makes Moses Simon the fifth Nigerian player to feature in 150 Ligue 1 games.

Joining an elite circle of his countrymen, Simon’s achievement puts him within reach of even greater heights. With just 20 more games, Simon could surpass the legendary Victor Ikpeba’s tally of 170 appearances.

However, to catch up with the likes of Taye Taiwo (191), Wilson Oruma (196), and the unstoppable John Utaka (239), he’ll need to dig even deeper.

Since making a switch to Ligue 1 in 2019, he has been the most decisive player for the Canaries, contributing more assists than any other player since their return to the top flight 11 years ago.

The Nigerian international has also had a commendable campaign so far, with two goals and two assists already in just five matches.

His consistent impact on the team was acknowledged with Nantes’ Player of the Month award for August.
