The Super Eagles have been drawn into Group C of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations following the draw ceremony held on Monday evening in Rabat, Morocco.

Where will the Super Eagles be based?

Nigeria will play all their Group C games at the Complexe Sportif de Fès, a multipurpose stadium located in Fez, northern Morocco.

The venue, with a capacity of 35,468, will also host quarter-final matches during the tournament.

Known for its state-of-the-art facilities, the stadium has established itself as a hub for sporting excellence in the region.

Who are Nigeria’s toughest opponents in Group C?

On paper, Tunisia will undoubtedly be the Super Eagles' toughest challenge. The Carthage Eagles eliminated Nigeria in the Round of 16 at the 2022 AFCON in Cameroon, a 1-0 defeat still fresh in the memory.

Tunisia, ranked ninth in Africa, boasts a solid AFCON pedigree with 20 tournament appearances and a title win in 2004.

By comparison, Uganda and Tanzania rank 19th and 24th in Africa, respectively, according to the December 2024 FIFA rankings.

While both teams will aim to upset the odds, Nigeria’s wealth of talent gives them a clear advantage.

What are Nigeria’s chances of qualification?

The Super Eagles' chances of progressing are exceptionally high.

The team has consistently advanced past the group stage in their last ten AFCON appearances.

With top-tier players like reigning African Footballer of the Year Ademola Lookman, Victor Osimhen, William Troost-Ekong, Victor Boniface and Alex Iwobi, Nigeria is well-positioned to dominate the group.

Although football is unpredictable, Uganda and Tanzania appear less likely to derail the Super Eagles’ campaign.

Super Eagles’ head-to-head records vs Group C opponents

Tunisia has participated in 20 AFCON tournaments, winning in 2004.

In 21 meetings with the Carthage Eagles, Nigeria has won six, drawn eight, and lost seven.
