According to reports from Nigerian media sources, Elijah Adebayo, a forward eligible to play for the Super Eagles, has disclosed his desire to represent the Nigeria national team.
The 26-year-old has been in excellent form for Premier League side Luton Town, finding the back of the net nine times in 23 domestic league matches.
His standout performance includes a hat-trick against Brighton at the end of January, a crucial contribution that lifted the team above the relegation zone.

Speaking on the possibility of playing for England, Adebayo maintains an open stance, stating, “It would be a case of whichever comes first.”
However, his sentiment towards representing Nigeria is resolute, noting, “My mum would be proud if I played for Nigeria or England, but Nigeria especially.”

Despite being born in England, Adebayo has not yet represented the country at any level of international football. However, his football journey has seen him ply his trade with several clubs across different tiers of English football.
