Club Brugge midfielder Raphael Onyedika is currently filled with confidence as the Super Eagles of Nigeria look set to face Libya in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier on Friday.
During a media parley at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in Ikot Ekpene, where the national team is based, Raphael shared his belief that the team is well-positioned to clinch the crucial six points necessary for a smoother journey to the 2025 AFCON finals in Morocco.
Onyedika highlighted the team’s winning mentality as they prepare for this important match.

The 23-year-old acknowledged that while football can be unpredictable, leading to unexpected outcomes, the Super Eagles are fully dedicated to performing at their best.
He claimed that the rigorous preparations have instilled a sense of determination among the players.

The midfielder expressed strong faith in the hard work the squad has put in and the collective mentality they possess, stressing that their goal is to secure victory over the weekend.
Despite the potential difficulties posed by the Libyan side, who are not to be taken lightly, Onyedika, who was quoted by Complete Sports, stated that the Eagles will concentrate entirely on the goal at hand.
“We want to get the six points from Libya. We approach every game with the mindset of winning,” Onyedika said.
“We know that in football, anything can happen. But we’ve worked hard, and we have the right players with the right mentality to win.
“It won’t be easy. The Libyans won’t be here for sight-seeing, but we know what we want, and we’re going to go for it.”
Currently, the Super Eagles hold the top position in Group D of the AFCON 2025 qualifiers, having accumulated four points from two matches.
