Super Eagles forward Samuel Kalu is facing another challenge in his storied career as he has been relegated to training with Watford's reserves pending a decision on his future.
Kalu joined Watford from Bordeaux in 2022 for approximately €3 million but failed to make a significant impact at Vicarage Road due to a combination of injuries and a dip in form.
He made only 13 appearances for the team before being loaned out to Swiss side Lausanne Sport last season.

During his time in Switzerland, Kalu featured in several games, scoring three goals and providing two assists.
Super Eagles winger's talent yet to shine despite promise
Despite his contributions, it appears Samuel Kalu is not in manager Tom Cleverley's plans for the upcoming season, as he was sent back to train with the reserves after returning from his loan spell.
The 26-year-old is now seeking a new club to continue his career.
Once hailed as one of the best dribblers to emerge from Nigeria, Kalu’s career has been marred by inconsistency and setbacks, despite his immense talent.
Developed at the famous GBS Academy in Jos, Samuel Kalu moved to AS Trenčín in Slovakia before earning a big-money transfer to KAA Gent and subsequently to Bordeaux.

Kalu is currently training with Watford's U21s to maintain his fitness, with another loan move looking increasingly likely.
With just one year left on his contract, there are rumors that both a Championship team and a League One side have expressed interest in securing his services.
Kalu has earned 16 caps for Nigeria, scoring two goals and providing three assists. He last featured for the Super Eagles in 2021 during a World Cup qualifier against the Central African Republic in Lagos.
