Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade stole the spotlight in Friday night’s Madrid Derby as she led Atletico Madrid Femenino to a commanding 4-0 victory over Madrid CFF in Liga F.
Ajibade, 25, put on a stellar performance, scoring to take her tally for the season to three in four games.
The game began with Atletico Madrid in control, and their early dominance was rewarded in the 21st minute when Madrid’s Paola Ulloa inadvertently scored an own goal.
Raheedat Ajibade came alive after the break, doubling her team’s lead in the 51st minute with a clinical finish. She then appeared to have scored a second to make it 3-0, but the goal was later credited as an own goal.

The rout was completed in added time when Synne Jensen struck Atletico’s fourth, capping off a dominant performance.

Rasheedat Ajibade’s impact in the Madrid Derby was evident across the board. The Nigerian star played the full 90 minutes and was instrumental in Atletico Madrid's 4-0 victory.
Ajibade had 65 touches throughout the game, and was constantly involved in Atletico’s attacking play, creating three key chances, while hitting a passing accuracy of 74% from 34 attempted passes.

Ajibade was a threat in front of goal as well, taking two shots on target and one off target.
Her dribbling was impressive, as she completed five out of ten dribble attempts, driving her team forward in key moments.
Although she missed one big chance, her overall contribution kept Madrid on the back foot.
Defensively, Ajibade was equally effective, winning 10 out of 17 ground duels and the only aerial duel she contested.
With this win, Atletico Madrid sits atop the Liga F table with 12 points from four matches, maintaining their perfect start to the season.
