Former Premier League star Troy Deeney has weighed in on Chelsea's striker options, expressing his preference for Victor Osimhen over Ivan Toney.
Despite having an impressive strike force, Chelsea's offensive line is not without its challenges, with Nicolas Jackson, Marc Guiu and Christopher Nkunku struggling to find their scoring touch.
The Blues have maintained a long-standing interest in signing the Nigeria international, should the right opportunity present itself, as the striker appears eager to depart Napoli this summer.

Given the complexities surrounding Osimhen's transfer, Chelsea have recently been linked with a potential move for the Brentford forward instead.
Despite his close relationship with Toney, Deeney believes that Osimhen is the ideal forward to solve this inefficiency and help the two-time European champions get over the line.
Deeney highlights Victor Osimhen’s strengths in Chelsea striker debate
In an interview with Sky Sports News, Deeney shared his perspective on the potential signings. Although he values Toney’s contributions, the former Watford striker argued that Victor Osimhen would be a more impactful choice.

“I was going to say Ivan, but for the way Chelsea are playing, personally, I am not a big Nicolas Jackson fan. I think he does a lot of running, but they don’t need that,” Deeney said.
“They need someone who is a bit like Haaland, looks after it, let the other guys run. Osimhen has the running and he has got the ability, and the aura of I am going to score, I am the big man, give me the ball.”
With the transfer window closing in a few days, it remains to be seen which of the two strikers—Toney or Osimhen—will ultimately join Chelsea.
