Osimhen: Super Eagles forward’s Rolls-Royce performance sends Galatasaray to Türkiye Cup final

Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen was in fine form, helping his Turkish side Galatasaray to am emphatic 5-1 win over Konyaspor in the Türkiye Cup on Tuesday.

The win sees Galatasaray become the first team to qualify for the final and keep their dreams of a double alive.

The Nigerian forward opened the scoring for Galatasaray in the 26th minute for his 30th goal of the season in all competitions, before midfielder Lucas Torreira added a second just three minutes before half-time.

Galatasaray came out firing in the second half and extended their lead to 3-0 just two minutes after the restart.

Roland Sallai scored for the hosts, who began to dominate and pick apart the Konyaspor defence with ease.

Pedrinho pulled one back for Konyaspor in the 53rd minute to make it 3-1, but Galatasaray quickly restored their three-goal cushion when Sallai grabbed his second and the team’s fourth, just three minutes later.

Yusuf Demir then put more gloss to the win with a fifth goal deep into added time in the second half for a comprehensive win for Galatasaray

Victor Osimhen featured for 73 minutes before being substituted in Galatasaray’s comfortable win over Konyaspor in the Türkiye Cup.

He scored a goal and provided an assist in a standout performance.

Osimhen registered three shots on target, two off target, and had one effort blocked.

He completed three of his four dribble attempts and missed one big chance.

The Nigerian forward had 24 touches, delivered two key passes, and completed five of his six passes, giving him an 83% pass accuracy.

In duels, he won one of two aerial challenges and six of the nine ground duels he contested.

It was an all-round solid display from Osimhen on the night.
