Wilfred Ndidi was in the thick of the action as Leicester City’s struggles deepened with a 3-0 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux on Saturday.
Searching for his 50th club career goal contribution, the Super Eagles midfielder would have to wait a little longer, unable to register a goal or assist in a bruising Midlands derby.
Already relegated with five games left, Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side were playing purely for pride, but could not snap their miserable winless run stretching back to January 26.

Goals from Matheus Cunha, Larsen, and Gomes wrapped up another forgettable outing for the Foxes, who remain 19th with 18 points from 34 matches.
Solid effort from Wilfred Ndidi amidst defeat
Ndidi started and lasted 83 minutes before being substituted. In that time, he had 32 touches, attempted 46 passes and completed 39 of them, ending with an 85% pass success rate and one key pass created.

He managed one shot on target, saw another effort blocked, and was unlucky to hit the woodwork during Leicester’s rare attacking moments.
The Nigerian midfielder picked up a yellow card in the 65th minute for a rash tackle as frustrations grew. Defensively, he remained combative, recording five tackles, one blocked shot, and three clearances.
In duels, Ndidi battled hard but inconsistently, winning six of his 15 ground duels and two of seven aerial contests. Despite the result, his commitment and energy could not be questioned on a difficult afternoon for Leicester.
