Leicester City legend Robert Huth has urged the club to re-sign Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi.
Ndidi's contract with the Foxes ended last month, marking the conclusion of a seven-year relationship. Now a free agent, the 27-year-old has been the subject of transfer rumours this summer following a stellar season with Leicester.
The Nigeria international played a crucial role in the Foxes' successful promotion to the Premier League, emerging as one of their key players.
The Nigeria midfielder played a vital role in the latter part of the season, returning from a three-month injury layoff to score six goals and provide six assists, helping the Foxes to the Championship title.
Huth's call for Leicester to secure Wilfred Ndidi
Speaking to gambling.com, as reported by Leicester Mercury, Huth passionately advocated for the re-signing of Wilfred Ndidi, highlighting the midfielder's integral role and impact on the team.
“I love Wilf, I think he’s a fantastic player,” the 39-year-old said.

“He came in when I was in my last two years at Leicester, as a young kid, and I’ve seen him develop into what I would call a proper midfielder. Box to box, really talented. He kind of links the attack to the defence, he’s so important for us.
“I would definitely re-sign him because he’s still only 27, he knows the club and he’s played in the Premier League before.”
In spite of his preference, Huth acknowledged keeping Ndidi would require a significant financial investment.

“It’s going to be a cost thing – but how much is it going to be to replace him? He’s valuable not only on the pitch, but also a fantastic character off it. He fits in, he’s one of those bubbly guys that mingles with everyone. I think he’s so important to have in the club.
“Hopefully Leicester can get something done with him, but money talks at the end of the day. If there’s something better on the table for Wilf then fair play to him and we wish him all the best. But at the moment there’s still hope.”
Huth featured for the Foxes from 2015 to 2018 and was an integral member of Leicester's historic Premier League title-winning team in the 2015/16 season.
