After Seema’s exit, who takes over at Sekhukhune? Here is the favorite

Sekhukhune United have confirmed the exit of former Orlando Pirates defender Lehlohonolo Seema with immediate effect.

There have been rumours that Babina Noko were contemplating making changes in the technical team owing to the inconsistencies across all competitions. On Wednesday night, they suffered a 2-1 loss in the Premier Soccer League against Richards Bay, and it seems that prompted the management to hasten the inevitable.

In a statement to the public, Sekhukhune confirmed Kaitano Tembo and Paulus Masehe will take charge on an interim basis.

“Sekhukhune United Football Club announce the departure of Head Coach Lehlohonolo Seema, with immediate effect,” the PSL team confirmed.

“In light of this development, coaches Kaitano Tembo and Paulus Masehe will take on the responsibility of leading the team forward. The club thanks Coach Seema for his dedication and contribution during his time with us.”

Babina Noko are currently placed fourth on the table with 31 points, the same as third placed Stellenbosch and Polokwane City who are fifth. Reports have it Seema was fired owing to a broken relationship between him and the club.

A year ago, Seema was dismissed by the club in favour of German Peter Hyballa, only to be reinstated after the European was sacked even without managing one game.

The news must have come as a shock to Seema who was in a pre-match interview ahead of the Nedbank quarter-final game between Sekhukhune United and last season's finalists Mamelodi Sundowns.

Former Cape Town City coach Eric Tinkler has been tipped to replace Seema, with the announcement set to be made in the next couple of days or so.
