Mike Makaab has opened up about the players he gave Amakhosi before the club turned them down
Prominent South African agent Mike Makaab has revealed that he offered two strikers to Kaizer Chiefs but the club turned them down.
Chiefs have been in the market for a striker with coach Nasreddine Nabi confirming his desire to get a proper centre forward but as the transfer window nears its closure on Friday, they are yet to find him.
Nabi has insisted he is ready to wait until he finds the right profile and it is now emerging that he had been offered some, whom he turned down.
The agent has waxed lyrical about his players
“2 strikers from Africa, leading goal scorers in their respective countries & again I do not blame Chiefs, they do their homework, decide whether the footballer fits in with how the Technical Team wants to play & make their decision. That’s how football works & I respect that,” Makaab said, while responding to a question on X about the players he offered Chiefs in this window.
Makaab’s sentiments comes two weeks after Nabi revealed that he turned down a striker from Portugal as he did not fit the profile of what he is looking to bring to Chiefs.
Why did Kaizer Chiefs reject Makaab’s strikers?

“Every coach needs the best players. It is difficult because the level of players I want to come to Kaizer Chiefs must be high level. I don’t accept a middle player and because of that, I’m ready to take time,” Nabi said.
“I refused a striker who is playing in Portugal. I refused because he does not have the level of Kaizer Chiefs. Because of that, I will take time and if we don’t get the right one, I will not take anyone.”
In a past interview, Makaab admitted that he had offered Togolese forward Yawo Agbagno to Chiefs but the club turned him down, with Nabi reportedly looking for a striker who is comfortable operating in the box.
