Al Ahly’s Koller faulted for pushing Tau to Qatar SC – ‘He needed a chance’

Egyptian champions Al Ahly recently parted ways with Bafana Bafana international attacker Percy Tau and his counterpart, Algerian defender Ahmed Kendouci.

Coach Marcel Koller has also reportedly asked the management to consider parting ways with Kahraba, who has been linked to Al-Ittihad in Libya.

Former Red Devils star Yasser Radwan feels the exit of the aforementioned duo has already impacted the team negatively. He feels there was a change of style as the club fell 2-1 against Orlando Pirates last weekend to finish second in Group C of the Caf Champions League.

Rwadan argues it is like the club has lost its identity after allowing star players to leave in the ongoing transfer window.

Was letting Tau leave a mistake?

“Al Ahly's performance does not reach the level we are accustomed to. There is significant inconsistency. How can we talk about the impact of absences when the team is supposed to have the best players in Egypt?” he said in his interview with On Sport FM.

“Al Ahly have very good players. It all depends on the coach and how he manages these players tactically. Changing the playing style frequently confuses the players. Al Ahly needs a striker alongside Wessam Abou Ali, as well as wingers, a left-back, and a centre-back.

“There is an abundance of midfielders, but after Akram Tawfik's departure, the team might need a midfielder.I thought Percy Tau needed a chance to continue because he makes an impact whenever he plays. However, regarding Kahraba, I think now is the right time for him to leave Al Ahly,” Rwadan concluded.
