Pablo Franco Martin is impressed by the work of the Tunisian tactician at Naturena

AmaZulu coach Pablo Franco Martin has lauded the work being done by Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi since he arrived at the club.

Martin feels Nabi has greatly improved Chiefs, even if they have just played one game, while praising the club for bringing in quality players not jut to address glaring weaknesses but to add competition to the squad.

Chiefs started the season with a 2-1 comeback win against Marumo Gallants and as they prepare for Wednesday’s clash against AmaZulu, Martin feels the Glamour Boys are in safe hands.

What has impressed Martin about Nabi’s Chiefs?

“I think they have improved from last season, I think the current coach, I know him well because I already played against him in Africa and he has been successful wherever he goes,” Martin told KickOff.

“Also, I think they signed very good players where they had weaknesses, and in positions where [even though] they did not have so many weaknesses, they were capable of creating competition [by bringing in new signings] and that makes the team grow.

“I like their style of play, I liked the mentality when they went behind early in the game [against Gallants] and they haven’t had the best results in the last two months.

The AmaZulu coach has put Amakhosi on notice

“So that resilience, that mentality to be able to come back especially with that mentality and good feeling that top teams have that sooner or later they are going to score.”

Martin has, however, warned Nabi and his men not to expect an easy run against his team as they also have quality that can punish Amakhosi.

“There are a lot of complements for the opponent, we know it is going to be tough but we also know, what we are capable of the quality of our players and the mentality we have when we face these kinds of opponents,” added Martin, whose team started the season with a 2-1 loss to Polokwane City.
