AmaZulu FC have received a financial boost from two new sponsors and unveiled seven new signings ahead of the 2024/25 season.

At the end of the last campaign, Usuthu lost main sponsor SPAR who had been with the club for over 40 years. Meanwhile, sleeve sponsor Grindrod who had been with them since 2021 also walked away.

Amandla Mobile, a company in the industry of telecommunications will replace SPAR after signing a one-year deal with the KZN-based side. Meanwhile, Zungu Investments replaces sleeve sponsor Grindrod.

Amandla COO Carl Motaung said, “I’m the COO of Amandla Mobile, a proudly black-owned mobile visual network that stands as a beacon to empower and innovate within the telecommunications industry.”

“In line with our commitment to driving economic transformation and empowering communities, Amandla happens to run on a leading network that is the best covered in the country: MTN. This sponsor signifies a milestone in Amandla’s journey towards creating a more inclusive and connected society.”

The club’s president Sandile Zungu was mum on the amounts of money injected by both sponsors into the club’s pockets, saying as a club they will put the resources in good use.

ZUNGU WHEN ASKED ABOUT HOW MUCH SPONSORS WOULD INJECT

“Our new sponsor brought to you by MTN have seen it fit to sponsor us, we’re very proud. And the Zungu Investments company of which I’m chairman of, have also seen it fit to sponsor us,” said Zungu.

“That demonstrates more than just commitment, absolute commitment to the well-being of AmaZulu Football Club. We may have had disappointments that we didn’t end where we wanted to be in the past couple of seasons.

“But we are confident that we will end where we want to be. Once we reach that milestone of achievements, we shall never look back. And the resources that we are getting from our proud sponsors will be put to good use.”

AmaZulu also unveiled new signings on Monday – Kwanda Mngonyama, Luvuyo Phewa, Etiosa Ighodaro, Boniface Haba, Senzo Ndlovu, Leonardo Roy, and Thato Matli.
