Orlando Pirates legend Benedict ‘Tso’ Vilakazi has made a harsh assessment of Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi’s reign at the club.
Nabi’s team continues to disappoint after losing 2-1 to Golden Arrows on Saturday to extend their winless run to three games which leaves them stuck in eighth position on the PSL table with just 29 points from 23 matches.
The Glamour Boys were far from their best yet again, making a number of errors that Arrows capitalised on, to hand them their 10th league loss of the season.
Nabi was brought in to lift Chiefs after experiencing their worst-ever season last term, when they finished 10th in the PSL, but there have been no improvements and Vilakazi is among those who feel the Tunisian coach is out of his depth as he has not done any better than his predecessors.
Did Zwane & Ntseki do better than Nabi?

“I have said this before, and people thought I was just being naughty,” Vilakazi told iDiski TV.
“I said I see a disaster because for me there is no difference between him [Nabi] and what coach [Molefi] Ntseki and coach [Arthur] Zwane were doing. There is no difference. He plays the same way these guys were playing.
“Arthur was in a better position with points compared to Nabi and I think the only difference is that a lot of teams have dropped this season compared to previous seasons when Ntseki and Zwane were there.”
Vilakazi doubts whether the highly rated coach has what it takes to take Chiefs forward given what has been witnessed at Naturena this season.
Pirates legend fears the worst for Amakhosi

“Okay I see the number of games and points he has now but can coach Nabi show us who he is, what does he have in his pocket?” he posed.
“He is playing exactly how Arthur played using width, crossings, switching, it’s the same thing. If the club thought that coach Ntseki and coach Zwane were not good enough, here is Nabi doing the same thing the two coaches did.”
The former Pirates captain feels Chiefs might even finish lower than the 10th position of last season yet Nabi has been backed with several new signings, unlike some of those before him.
“There is pressure with where they are on the log and looking at the teams around them, who have games in hand, because if they win those matches, they will jump Chiefs,” he added.
Tso feels Tunisian not the right man for Chiefs

“What makes Nabi worse for me is that he had an opportunity to sign new players whereas coach Zwane and Ntseki had to use the same players and were in a better position. I don’t see coach Nabi taking Chiefs in a good direction with the way he plays.”
Chiefs’ loss to Arrows came after a 2-0 defeat to Richards Bay just before the international break when they played the match on the back of a goalless draw with Cape Town City.
It does not get any better for Nabi and his men as they will face fourth-placed TS Galaxy in their next match on Saturday, April 5.
