A Bafana Bafana striker is poised to join an English Premier League club as the transfer window approaches its closure in just a few days.

European clubs are currently hurrying to finalize the signings they have been pursuing, with the window set to close on Friday, 30 August.

Ipswich Town, a Premier League team, is reportedly in advanced negotiations with Bafana forward Lyle Foster, as indicated by Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri.

Ipswich, who recently secured promotion for the first time since 2002, are looking to secure the services of the former Monaco man on a loan deal.

OBLIGATION TO BUY TO BE INCLUDED IN THE DEAL

The deal will also include an obligation to buy for £25 million (R587 million).

Foster has been in England for over a year  and a half now having joined Burnley in the middle of the 2022/23 season from Belgian club KVC Westerlo.

He arrived at Turf Moore on a €11 million (R218 million) fee when the club was still under the leadership of Vincent Kompany who’s now at the helm at Bayern Munich.

Foster played only six months in the Championship before the club earned the promotion to the top-flight.

He has scored six goals and registered five assists in 44 matches he has played in the maroon colours of Burnley.

Meanwhile, last season in the Premier League, Foster scored five goals in 26 games he played in all competitions including the league, FA Cup and EFL Cup. His side Burnley were relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.

Besides Burnley, the 23-year-old has also turned out for Orlando Pirates, Monaco, Victoria de Gumairaes, Cercle Brugge and KVC Westerlo.
