Bafana Bafana legend Benni McCarthy suffered his first defeat in international football after Kenya fell 2-1 against Gabon at Nyayo National Stadium.

The hosts had come into the match hoping to get maximum points to keep alive their hopes of playing in the 2026 Fifa World Cup. However, former Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored a brace for the visitors with Michael Olunga getting the lone goal for Harambee Stars.
