Four Mzansi teams are set to know their fate in the continental assignments for the new season.

Premier Soccer League champions Mamelodi Sundowns will not be involved in the first preliminary round of the 2024/25 Caf Champions League ahead of the draw set for Thursday, July 11th in Cairo, Egypt.

The last season's semi-finalists have been exempted alongside defending champions Al Ahly, finalists Esperance, Petro de Luanda, and TP Mazembe.

However, Orlando Pirates – who finished behind Masandawana in the domestic league, will have to get past the first hurdle.

How do Caf CL the Pots look like?

The Sea Robbers have been placed in Pot 4 alongside Jwaneng Galaxy – who eliminated them from the competition last season, GDSE and Rangers.

“Five pots have been created for the 36 non-ranked and 14 low-ranked clubs, considering geographical proximity. Exempted and highest-ranked teams are geographically distributed in fixtures,” Caf media team confirmed.

Stellenbosch, who finished third in the Mzansi top-flight football, have been placed in Pot 3 ahead of the draw.
