Chiefs’ assistant coach’s message to fans after Yusuf Maart booing

Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef has sent message to Amakhosi faithful after the captain Yusuf Maart booing during the Sekhukhune United clash.

Amakhosi downed Babina Noko 1-0 thanks to a late strike from the young left-footer Mfundo Vilakazi who had come on from the bench.

Following the match, Ben Youssef appealed to the fans for unwavering support, stressing the importance of backing the team through both victories and setbacks.

This call came after some fans expressed dissatisfaction with certain decisions, including the introduction of captain Yusuf Maart in the second half and subsequent calls for his substitution after a missed opportunity.

‘THEY HAVE TO KNOW THAT’

“I hope they forgive us about the last game. They have to know that we need them when we are in a critical situation,” said Ben Youssef.

“More than when we are in a good situation. Always, they support us. They have to be sure that we are in the right direction.

“But we need just passion. We need to be passionate and to be sure that we are on the right side. That's it.”

Amakhosi are next in action against Free Agents in the Nedbank Cup Round of 32 clash on Sunday, 26 January.
