Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has explained how he ensured players focus on the Premier Soccer League assignment against Chippa United after making the Nedbank Cup final.
A week before playing the Chilli Boys at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Gqeberha, the Glamour Boys had beaten Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 in the semi-final of the Nedbank Cup to set up the Soweto derby final against rivals Orlando Pirates.

The game ended goalless with Amakhosi getting good chances to score but failing to capitalise on them. However, the Tunisian tactician is happy with the commitment shown by the players, and opened up on how he ensured the focus remains on Chippa.
‘We tried to prepare our players mentally'
“We took lessons from [the Chippa United] game; we even discussed all week about this game that we must be ready and focus on Chippa because it will be difficult,” Nabi opened up to the media.
“We tried to prepare our players mentally. The smart players, if they make one mistake, they can’t repeat the same mistake. Now we understand that if we don’t prepare 100% mentally, we can’t win any game.”
Kaizer Chiefs are currently pushing for a top-eight finish in the Premier Soccer League table. They have collected 31 points from the 25 games played, meaning they have no room for complacency. The next assignment will be at the FNB Stadium against Marumo Gallants.
Nabi's men will then focus on PSL's Soweto derby against Orlando Pirates at the FNB Stadium before playing the same team in the Nedbank Cup final at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
