Chiefs legend Khune makes shocking admission about his future – Only God will decide when it’s over!

Kaizer Chiefs legend Itumelang Khune has conceded he is still active and will not hesitate taking an offer that might come his way.

The 37-year-old served the Glamour Boys for 25 years before leaving at the end of the 2023/2 campaign. It was a forced move from active football since the former South Africa international had insisted he was physically fit to play until his early 40s.

During his stay at Amakhosi, Khune played more than 280 games, winning several top awards and silverware. Despite being out of the game since the start of the season, the legendary custodian insists he is keeping fit and ready for action any time a potential suitor comes his way.

“Only God will decide that it’s over; Right now I still want to play. I’m keeping fit and playing five-a-side football, getting myself ready for any phone call that may come through saying ‘Itu we need your services’. Listen, I’ll be there,” Khune told iDiski Times.

If Denis Onyango is playing, why not me? – Khune

“My main focus is with the SABC, it’s with Nedbank, it’s with the Topbet, it’s with Studio 88,” he continued.

“For now obviously, that’s where my bread comes from and obviously future endorsements. But if anyone had to knock and say Itu come back to football, obviously, I won’t be able to do all of this because full focus will be back on the field.

“But since I’m not on the field as yet, I would rather focus on those big projects that I’m doing. I’m still around, and I mean if [Denis] Onyango is 39 going on 40, why should I be in a hurry at 37 going on 38? Hence, I’m saying if a call comes through now, I’m going,” Khune concluded.

It is interesting to see which club will take a gamble and bring Khune to the Premier Soccer League or second tier in Mzansi.
