Kaizer Chiefs legend Itumeleng Khune is set to make an announcement over his next move after sending an invitation to the media.

Khune, whose football future is still unknown after the end of his contract with Chiefs, is yet to make public what he intends to do next even though he has been given a number of roles since the end of his deal.

Khune is currently a Chiefs ambassador and also has a role at the club’s marketing department while he occasionally works as a pundit on SABC.

What has Khune been up to since his ended?

Chiefs decided against extending Khune’s deal, having become a bit-part player in the final years of his contract, but while the player expressed a desire to continue playing, a move away from Naturena did not materialise.

He decided to stay at the club, where he has spent the last 25 years, and it is still not known if his big announcement will involve a parting of ways or an extended stay.

Khune has invited journalists to share a “momentous announcement” and to celebrate “the next big thing” on November 6 where his next move will likely be revealed.

There have also been reports that Khune has come to terms that he might not play again and fans will be waiting to hear from the horse’s mouth during the meeting.

Khune started out as a striker, when he first arrived at Chiefs in 1999, before successfully transitioning into a goalkeeper, and went on to make 347 appearances in all competitions, winning 12 trophies, including three league titles.

The former South Africa captain also earned 91 caps for Bafana Bafana.
