He debuted in the Soweto Derby against Amakhosi's old rivals Orlando Pirates, a match the latter won albeit controversially. The Congolese then made his full debut in the 2-2 draw against AmaZulu.

The 27-year-old then scored his maiden goal for the Soweto giants on Friday in the Premier Soccer League against Stellenbosch. The Congolese, however, did not finish the match; he was replaced in the latter stages of the fixture due to an injury.

Latest on Lilepo and Matlou

On Saturday, Chiefs host Chippa United in the Carling Knockout Cup Round of 16 fixture at the FNB Stadium. Lilepo might still make the squad according to the latest reports.

“No, it's not a serious injury. It was a precautionary measure not to aggravate his knock. It was just a knock on the thigh which was uncomfortable at the moment but the team was flying back on Saturday and he was already feeling much better,” SNL24 reported.

“He joined the rest of the team in the recovery training. He is expected to be ready for the next game. There is almost a week to improve his fitness and be ready for the game against Chippa United.”

George Matlou has been missing due to an injury, but there is positive news, “Yes, he was injured in the Soweto Derby and that's why he missed the AmaZulu and Stellenbosch games but things are looking positive for him with the medical and conditioning teams but whether he plays or not will depend on team selection. But he is doing well and looks much better and by Saturday he will be ready as well.”

Wandile Duba is still out after sustaining a knee injury.
