Kaizer Chiefs appear to have made significant progress in finding a replacement for Fernando Da Cruz, who served as an assistant coach to Nasreddine Nabi.
Da Cruz left Amakhosi to take up an unknown role in the Moroccan Football Federation.
While there are still rumours that Da Cruz’s exit isn’t complete as he still has to pay a three-month compensation to the club for an early termination, he was not on the bench in their first league match against Marumo Gallants.
Now, according to Soccer Laduma, Nabi is in talks with the Burundian coach Cedric Kaze as he looks to rope in someone he can trust.
They previously worked together at Young Africans.

NABI IN TALKS WITH BURUNDIAN COACH FOR ASSISTANT COACH ROLE
“He (Nabi) is talking to Cedric Kaze from Burundi who was with him at Young Africans. He is based in Canada,” said the Soccer Laduma’s source.
Kaze possesses both a CAF A coaching license and a German Football Federation A coaching license. Additionally, he has experience working with the reserve teams of FC Barcelona, specifically the under-17 and under-19 squads.
In a media interview following the Gallants match last week, Nabi indicated that he would contemplate the possibility of recruiting a replacement for Da Cruz, given the substantial workload at Chiefs.
“Why not? It’s possible, it’s possible,” said Nabi. “It’s possible because I have too much job. Now, I have only one assistant who has specific work.
“If Mr Cruz is in Morocco, I think he’s there definitely because we received a letter from Morocco. But we will have some little time to observe the situation.”
