‘Chiefs should play for Pirates’ – Bucs, Sundowns fans react to CAF draws

Published on by

On Monday, Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates, and Stellenbosch learned their opponents in the Caf competitions' group stage phase.

In the Caf Champions League, Sundowns have been put in Group B alongside Botola Pro Champions Raja Casablanca, former Nasreddine Nabi side AS FAR Rabat and AS Maniema Union.

The Buccaneers are in Group C with Percy Tau's Al Ahly – who are the defending champions, CR Belouizdad, and Stade D'Abidjan.

In the Caf Confederation Cup, first-timers Stellies have been placed in Group B with RS Berkane, Stade Malien, and CD Lunda Sul, who eliminated Sekhukhune United. What do the fans think?

‘No Abongile Tom, no worries for Stellies'

The Maroon Army is in top form and I know they got this. They are determined and motivated! Major Barker, you are our World Class Coach – Alida Smith

Play like you did against Orlando Pirates in the MTN8 final and you will stand a big chance of advancing – Sandile Ganga

If you can beat Sundowns, you can beat everyone in that group – Nguya Mbandu

From what I saw over the weekend in the MTN8, I do believe that Stellies can progress to the knockout stages – Moso Phooka Casillas Moso

No Abongile Tom no worries, you'll go through. I wish you the best – Cele Sibaphiwe

North Africa teams should play at 3 PM in Pretoria

It is not an easy group for Mamelodi Sundowns but we are going to the next round as always – Loftus TR

I am happy the top four equally shared the minnows in a balanced manner. I am happy Al Ahly got a minnow that just robbed Stellenbosch in the local league – Ta Fish

Can we please fix our defense? The thing is Mosa Lebusa and Grant Kekana's partnership isn't working. Masandawana are conceding in every game; we are letting Ronwen Williams down. Fix the defense then the team is good. Khuliso Mudau, Kekana, Mothobi Mvala and Aubrey Modiba will do – Kelello Magaba

We play those Moroccan teams at 3 PM at Loftus Stadium, they can't cope with the sun's heat. We only need seven points to qualify for the knockout phase – Moramaga Mmina Phiri

Tougher than we used to but we know how it's done. Win all home games and take whatever we can get on away games. Moroccans will cancel each other withdraws – Dubandlela Dubandlela

‘Chiefs should come and play for Pirates'

We fear no one, we are going straight to the quarter-finals! We are Orlando Pirates, and we are coming for that treasure – Percy Monnakgotla

Kaizer Chiefs should come and play for us, Orlando Pirates, we are tired – Matome Thomo

I think this is the best test for us as sea robbers, if we can unlock this stage definitely we will reach the finals – Kingdeekay Makgoba

This one is definitely in honour of Senzo Meyiwa. We'll definitely pull through for him – Khumo Gumede

The onus is on the fans to fill up Orlando Stadium and make it hostile for the Visiting teams…… Winning all home legs is always the way to go – Oscar Divhani Ndou
