Kaizer Chiefs have no chance of beating Mamelodi Sundowns in the Nedbank Cup semi-final, according to Masandawana legend Teko Modise.
The two teams will be playing each other on Sunday at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium. It will be the fourth time the sides will be playing each other in the ongoing campaign. The first one was in the Premier Soccer League where they won 2-1 before an embarrassing 4-0 win in the Carling Knockout quarter-final.
The latest meeting was in the South African top tier that ended with a solitary in favour of the defending champions.
‘Maybe Chiefs can find Masandawana weakness to exploit'
“It’s a very difficult one; because you have Sundowns that have a CAF commitment to play against a very, very difficult side, and it’s gonna be very physical and demanding to get a positive result,” he told iDiski Times.
“And yet again you have such an important game over the weekend which maybe Chiefs can find the weaknesses and flaws to actually beat Mamelodi Sundowns over the weekend.
But yet again you have a fixture that Sundowns are coming in as favourites and you have a mix bag of results from Kaizer Chiefs which the fans are expecting a victory or which the fans are expecting some sort of consolidation or consolidation prize maybe in terms of the season they’ve had,” he continued.
‘Sundowns should use the energy'

“It’s gonna be a very difficult one; I don’t think they have the personnel to upset Mamelodi Sundowns, but we’ve seen remarkable things happen in football,” Modise explained.
“Just because you’re favourites doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve already won the game. I think Mamelodi Sundowns have to go out on the weekend to actually try and win the game and Kaizer Chiefs will possibly try and use the energy because they don’t have a game in midweek.
“They’ll try and use as much energy as they can and just try and get as early goals as possible because knowing that Mamelodi Sundowns they will possibly be back in the country by Friday, and they don’t have enough time to actually train for that game,” he concluded.
The game will be played on Sunday from 18.00 hours SAT.
