Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi will be out to hit the ground running against his former employers Young Africans SC.

The Tunisian tactician, Nabi was appointed by Amakhosi in the off-season with the club hoping to return to their glory days this upcoming season.

Chiefs last won the trophy in 2015 when they lifted the ABSA Premiership league title under the guidance of Stuart Baxter who then left the club at the end of the season for greener pastures in Europe.

The Phefeni Glamour Boys recently came back to South Africa from the pre-season camp they had in Instanbul, Turkey.

Chiefs enter this match brimming with confidence after their emphatic 5-2 pre-season victory over Qatari side Al-Shahaniya in Turkey. Ranga Chivaviro netted four goals while the club's youngster Mfundo Vilakazi rattled in the other one.

The Soweto giants are said to have underwent gruelling training regime under the new leadership of Nabi as they prepare for a stronger comeback.

Meanwhile, Yanga won their last match against TS Galaxy 1-0 in the Mpumalanga International Premier's Cup on Wednesday. They have been in South Africa for two weeks now in the pre-season camp as they gear up for the next campaign.

In the Saturday's press conference, Nabi disclosed that new signings Fiacre Ntwari and Rushwin Dortley are unlikely to feature in the match as the coaching staff intends to evaluate the players. Additionally, Happy Mashiane will be unavailable for selection due to a family commitment.

FARPost reported that Chiefs might grant academy graduate Nkosana Mbuthu some playing time. There's also a strong possibility that Given Msimango, Reeve Frosler, and Thatayaone Ditlhokwe will start.
