Chippa United coach Thabo September has promised a good show against Kaizer Chiefs in the Premier Soccer League game that will be staged at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
This is a high-profile encounter since a win for the Chilli Boys will push the Glamour Boys out of the top eight. Currently, Chiefs occupy that position with 30 points from 24 games, a point more than Chippa United, who have played two games less.
September believes his team can frustrate Amakhosi and get a positive result, but only if his players concentrate on their performance as opposed to their opponent's.
‘We should maintain the defensive strength'
“Since the two teams are so close on the log table, I view this as a six-pointer,” the tactician said as quoted by SNL24.
“We will strive to win on Saturday, and I've instructed my players to focus more on our own performance rather than on Kaizer Chiefs.
“We need to concentrate on continuing our good form. We didn't concede in our last game and have only allowed one goal in our last three matches, so we should maintain that defensive strength.”
‘Chippa embracing the top-eight challenge'

Chiefs beat Mamelodi Sundowns 2-1 to get into the Nedbank Cup final, and September believes that might play a part regarding their confidence. But the coach insists the top-eight finish is what they are aiming.
“We need to capitalize on our opportunities when they arise. I expect a confident and highly motivated Kaizer Chiefs team, especially after they qualified for CAF and secured a spot in the Nedbank Cup final.
“Our chances of finishing in the top eight this season are promising, as we are two games behind Kaizer Chiefs, who currently occupy 8th place. The players are embracing this challenge, which is great for us,” he concluded.
Chiefs have won the initial two meetings across all competitions, and the Chilli Boys will be aiming at avenging the defeats.
