Kaizer Chiefs youngster Samkelo Zwane has been called out to improve his game following their first Betway Premiership match last week.

Amakhosi secured a 2-1 victory against Marumo Gallants last Saturday, captivating a sold-out crowd at the Toyota Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein.

This triumph has instilled a sense of optimism among the club's supporters, who have witnessed a prolonged period of challenges under various coaching leaderships.

Former Chiefs attacking midfielder Junior Khanye remarked that he saw a transformed Chiefs during their match against Bahlabane Ba Ntwa. He commended the players' mentality, asserting that Nabi has the potential to bring out their best.

While Khanye praised several players for their impressive performances in the league's opening match, he specifically called upon Zwane to elevate his game.

Khanye expressed disappointment that the 22-year-old Zwane is not fully capitalising on the opportunity presented to him, especially after facing limited playing time under Cavin Johnson last season.

“Well done to Chiefs. They look a bit different. Their mindset as a team has changed. It looks like coach Nasreddine Nabi is able to get something from these players,” Khanye told iDiskiTV.

“Gaston Sirino has added an attacking dimension to the team that they did not have. Well done to Mfundo Vilakazi as well for scoring the winning goal. Good finish. Good position.

“The only player I still need to see more of is Samkelo Zwane. I’m disappointed that he is not grabbing this chance. He needs to come to the party.”
