Former Bafana Bafana defender Linda Buthelezi has tipped Kaizer Chiefs' young midfielder Samkelo Zwane to challenge Siphephelo Sithole for a place in the Bafana Bafana midfield.
Zwane seems to be getting himself many admirers as Nasreddine Nabi has been giving him game time recently.
Having had limited opportunities under previous coaches Cavin Johnson and Molefi Ntseki last season, the 22-year-old is slowly emerging as a key player for Chiefs.
Buthelezi believes that with continued playing time at Chiefs, Zwane can develop into a leader for the Glamour Boys.
He also sees potential for Zwane to compete with Sithole for a spot in the Bafana Bafana squad.

SAMKELO ZWANE HAILED BY CHIEFS LEGEND
“I still say Zwane can shine and be a star at Kaizer Chiefs if he can be given a chance, just like Jayden Adams,” Buthelezi told FARPost.
“That boy can be a leader one day as long as he can be given time. What a brilliant passer, what a thinker, his strength and all that. He can compete with [Sphephelo] Sithole. He is a good replacement for Sithole.”
Meanwhile, after Chiefs' match against SuperSport United, coach Nasreddine Nabi revealed that Samkelo Zwane has made significant tactical improvements in recent months.
“Zwane have worked a lot the last few months,” Nabi told the media after the match.
“And we believe that he has changed because before there was some tactical issues with him.
“He’s still young and maybe sometimes he wants to do unnecessary things, but we believe that it’s through games like that those young players are gonna grow.”
