Chippa United give update on their enquiry about Orlando Pirates’ Goodman Mosele

Chippa United have given an update on their enquiry about Orlando Pirates midfielder Goodman Mosele.

The deep-lying playmaker, aged 24, was on loan at the Chilli Boys for the previous season. Due to his experience, he was one of the most reliable players for the Eastern Cape-based side.

Mosele amassed 25 appearances and scored one goal in the colours of Chippa last season.

He then returned to his parent club at the end of the season. He was spotted when the Buccaneers returned for the pre-season. However, he’s yet to participate in the friendly games due to an injury he still nursing.

Mosele picked a knock in a DStv Premiership match against AmaZulu towards the end of the previous campaign.

In recent weeks, Chippa United expressed their interest in having Mosele back for another season in the Eastern Cape.

However, according to the club’s co-coach Thabo September, Orlando Pirates have yet to respond. Besides, he feels it wouldn’t make sense to retain the services of an injured player while they can have some that they can utilise.

WHAT’S THE FUTURE HOLDS FOR MOSELE AMID CHIPPA UNITED’S INTEREST

“Mosele is still at Pirates, he is not yet back, he is injured so I think he's gonna be out for a while,” September told KickOff.

“We would love to have him back but if we take him carrying an injury he might take a space of a fully fit player.

“But the transfer window is still open so we will see how it goes, it's the knee injury he sustained in our match against AmaZulu.

“But even Pirates haven't come back to us so, we will see how it goes.”

So far, Chippa have signed Xolani Sithole, Samkelo Jali, Giovanni Philander, Sifiso Mazibuko, Boy Madingwana, Seun Ndlovu, Thobani Jacobs, Aphelele Teto and Andile Jali.

Meanwhile, they let go of Luvuyo Memela, Roscoe Petersen, Loydt Kazapua, Azola Ntsabo, Siyabonga Nhlapo, Siphelele Luthuli, Darren Johnson, Menzi Ndwandwe, Andile Fakude, Kamohelo Mahlatsi, Diego Apollis, Khanyisile Mayo, Siseko Manona, Yurig Conwood, and Andile Mbenyane.
