Cape Town City have been tipped to have a better 2024/25 Premier Soccer League season owing to the way they are playing.
The Citizens started their domestic campaign with MTN8 assignments; they eliminated SekhukhuneUnited from the annual competition in the quarter-final stage before falling to Orlando Pirates in the next one.
Despite their exit, City showed a good game, and midfielder Thabo Nodada is convinced that despite having mixed results so far, things will eventually work out for them.
Pirates exploit mean City are good – Nodada
“It’s six games played, two wins, two draws, two losses, it’s square, I don’t think it’s cause for concern, I think if you look at that first half from Pirates in the MTN8, not many teams can put Pirates on the back foot like that,” the midfielder told the media.

“Those are the moments we have got to pay attention to, learn from, and hope to replicate, all you spoke about happened without me on the field, so I’d like to think I have an edge.
“So I’m excited about the prospects of the team. Giving the new guys a chance to adapt to the City, it’s Cape Town, after all, not an easy city to be in. The temperature, the weather but I have full trust in the guys and the players who’ve been there a while, feel the pressure and they will deliver the goods soon.”
City ready to get past Royal AM
On Saturday, City host Royal AM in the Carling Knockout's Round of 16, and Nodada is convinced the Citizens will roar past Thwihli Thwahla.
“They are a good side, there’s nothing more to it. You look at the negative of them not being able to sign players, but you don’t look at the positive of building around the same people for a long period of time.
“We have to give them props for that, and yeah, they’re a good side, I don’t think I can give them more credit than they deserve.”
Nodada is currently nursing an injury suffered in March, but he hopes to come back strongly and help his team deliver.
