With only one day remaining before the closure of the PSL transfer window, Cape Town Spurs CEO Alexi Efstathiou has provided another update regarding the pursuit of the player's signature.
It is well-known that Velebayi has been a key target for Amakhosi during this transfer period, with the club having submitted an offer to the Western Cape team for the player.
Efstathiou further disclosed that there are international clubs that have expressed interest in the young winger.
He emphasised that they have received only โone written offerโ for Velebayi, which was from Chiefs, but they opted to decline it.
Subsequently, the Soweto giants did not present any enhanced offers to secure the player's transfer.
CT SPURS RECEIVED โONLY ONE WRITTEN OFFERโ FOR VELEBAYI
โThere have been talks and enquiries from various teamsโ he told Soccer Laduma.
โBut as far as written offers are concerned, we've only received one. Chiefs know our stance, everyone knows our stance and we are not changing that. This is definitely not a Chiefs/Spurs thing as it has been made out to be.
โWe know what the player is valued at, he has a contract with our club and that needs to be respected no matter the club,โ he said.

Efstathiou stated that they have lost two players to Stellenbosch, as the neighboring club was prepared to meet Spurs' asking prices for those individuals.
He emphasized that they will not reduce the price for Velebayi, as they are aware of his worth.
โTHERE ARE NO DISCOUNTSโ FOR VELEBAYI
โThere are no discounts when you know the worth of your product. We have shown that we are not opposed to selling players. We have lost three crucial players. Two of them went to Stellenbosch, who were willing to pay what we were asking for, and one to Chiefs. This is how it works all over the world.
โIf anyone meets our asking price for Asenele, he will be transferred.
โIn the meantime, Asanele is focused on the job at hand, and I must say as a young player, he is handling the situation in a very mature wayโ he concluded.
