Danny Jordaan has given his opinion on South African stars who have moved to the Maghrib
SAFA president Danny Jordaan believes the transfers of Bafana Bafana stars Khanyisa Mayo and Elias Mokwana to North Africa is good marketing for South African football.
Mayo recently moved to Algerian club CR Belouizdad while Mokwana completed a transfer to Tunisian giants Esperance last week, beginning a new chapter after impressing in the PSL.
Former Cape Town City man Mayo bagged 11 goals while providing two assists in 31 matches as Mokwana scored four and had five assists for Sekhukhune United before his move to North Africa.

The SAFA boss therefore feels the transfers are proof enough that South African football is on the right trajectory.
What does Jordaan think of Mayo and Mokwana’s transfers?
“This is an international element of football; it’s a market force for us,” Jordaan told FARPost.
“And I saw, [they left], Elias Mokwana just delivered a good performance and now he’s gone.
“We hope that they will be available when we need them to be here [for Bafana Bafana].”
The duo joined Bafana Bafana duo Percy Tau and Fagrie Lakay in North Africa with the latter two plying their trade in Egypt.

Bafana duo will hope to become key players at their new clubs
Tau has been at Al Ahly since 2021, winning two league titles and as many CAF Champions League crowns, while Lakay played for Pyramids where he has been since 2022.
The new recruits will hope to impress during their stint in North Africa to maintain their places in the national team as Mayo has seven caps while Mokwaana has played twice for Hugo Broos’ team.
