It means the winner of the match will take the lead which will be vital in deciding the destiny of the title race. A win for Chiefs will see them open up a four-point lead and with a match in hand, which can be vital in their title aspirations.

Chiefs have been in great form, winning their last six games, while Stellies have won their last three games, setting up a cracking game during the midday kickoff.

It will be defence against attack as Chiefs have the best backline in the PSL Reserve League after letting in just 14 goals in 22 matches while Stellies have the most lethal frontline that has scored 57 goals so far.

Stellenbosch, who are the defending champions, are looking for their third PSL Reserve League title in four years, after claiming the 2021-22 and last season’s crown, while Chiefs are vying for their first-ever Diski Challenge title.

The last meeting between the two sides ended goalless in October 2024 but with their current form, goals will likely be witnessed.

Meanwhile, rank outsiders Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United will be hoping that both sides drop points to give their slim hopes a chance.

Sundowns are third on the standings with 45 points from 23 matches while Matsatsantsa are a point behind from as many games.
