Kaizer Chiefs will look to maintain their place at the top of the DStv Diski Challenge when they host Marumo Gallants on Saturday January 18 while Mamelodi Sundowns are hot on their hills.
Chiefs enjoy a one-point lead over both Sundowns and holders Stellenbosch FC, having taken their tally to 30 points from 13 matches, one less than Stellies.
Amakhosi have improved this season with just one defeat while their defence, which has let in 11 goals, is the best in the division.
That will give the Glamour Boys confidence of picking up three points at the CUT Stadium against a Gallants side that is yet to win a match and is bottom of the table with just three points from 13 matches.
Sundowns can capitalise on Chiefs’ slip ups

Meanwhile, Sundowns will be looking to capitalise on any slip ups from Chiefs as they visit TS Galaxy also on Saturday, a match that will be tricky even though Bernard Parker's team have been struggling of late.
Sundowns seem to have banished their early season blues, putting together a nine-match unbeaten run and can stay on the heels of the leaders with a win against Galaxy, who were thrashed 4-1 by Chiefs last time out.
With Stellenbosch, who also have 29 points, not involved this weekend since their match against Royal AM is cancelled, both Chiefs and Sundowns have an opportunity to open a gap if they register wins.
Elsewhere, eighth-placed Orlando Pirates will be looking for their first win since November 3 when they host Polokwane City on Saturday.
Who else is playing this weekend?
Pirates’ title credentials have been put to the test in the last two matches and found wanting, losing with an identical score of 2-1 to both Chiefs and Sundowns.
That will give 12th-placed Polokwane some confidence of adding onto their woes during the clash set to be staged at Isak Steyl Stadium.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, fast-rising SuperSport United, placed fourth on the log, host free-scoring Cape Town City with the two teams separated by just a point.
Golden Arrows will welcome Chippa United the same day as Sekhukhune United host Magesi FC. Richards Bay will entertain AmaZulu.
