With Betway Premiership Soweto derbies scheduled to take place only next year, DStv Diski Challenge will offer a reprieve for fans of this fixture.
Last week, the PSL released the fixtures for the Betway Premiership, revealing that Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates are scheduled to face each other in both the first and second rounds of the league next year.
This is after the commencement of the league had to be delayed as the South African league motherbody was finalising the new sponsorship agreement with Betway following the exit of DStv.
The Soweto of the senior sides can only take place this year if the two Soweto giants are drawn against each other in the Carling Knockout Cup which is going to begin on 19 October and run until 30 November.
WHEN SOWETO DERBY ENTHUSIASTS WILL ENJOY DDC CHIEFS & PIRATES FIXTURE?
Enthusiasts of this fixture can look forward to a match between the two teams in the reserve league, DDC, scheduled for 17 November 2024 at Dobsonville Stadium, commencing at 12:00 pm.
Earlier on the day, Cape Town City would have taken on TS Galaxy at the Malta Park Sports Complex at 10. Two derbies will also be played on the same day.
Golden Arrows will meet Richards Bay FC in the KZN derby at Chatsworth Stadium at 12:00 pm. Polokwane City and Sekhukhune United will face off in the Limpopo derby at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium at 12:00 pm.
