Kaizer Chiefs versatile attacker Ashley du Preez insists the Glamour Boys are the biggest club, not only in South Africa, but the entire continent at large.
The Soweto giants have been struggling domestically for most of a decade, failing to win any silverware. However, this season, they have made the Nedbank Cup final, where they will play their old rivals on May 10 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
By reaching the final, Amakhosi have a massive chance of playing in the Caf Confederation Cup next season. All they need is the Buccaneers finishing inside the top three positions in the Premier Soccer League.
‘Every team would like to face Chiefs'

The former Stellenbosch winger is delighted with what the team has achieved, underlining their importance in the Caf competitions and how it will impact the fans and other teams as well.
“We are the biggest team in Africa, so every team would like to face us. We want to compete on the highest level. Orlando Pirates, Stellenbosch and Sundowns have been there and are doing a great job in the competition,” Du Preez told the media.
“I think for the people who would love to see Chiefs also in that space, I’m sure they will see us, and every team would like to face Chiefs, and fans and we will be so happy. So, for us to be in that competition, African football would be better.”
What does the Sundowns goal mean to du Preez?
The 27-year-old has further commented on his winner against Masandawana that took Chiefs to the Nedbank Cup final.
“Yes, that goal gives me motivation to do more because, as a striker, that’s what you want to do. I’ve been coming on as a sub, and against Magesi, I also did that because it’s not easy to come from the bench and score the winning goal,” du Preez continued.
“Thinking about that goal against Mamelodi Sundowns is an amazing feeling for us as a club and for myself as well. For me, it’s to keep pushing no matter how much time I’m given, it’s just to help the team at the end of the day,” he concluded.
