Kaizer Chiefs versatile attacker Ashley du Preez has promised to double his effort after getting a two-year extension at the club.
Since joining the Glamour Boys from Stellenbosch in the 2022/23 season, Du Preez has commanded a starting berth at the club – when fit. There were rumours that some teams from Europe were salivating for his services, but Amakhosi acted fast by ensuring they handed him a better deal.

The 27-year-old will now remain at Naturena for the next two seasons, as coach Nasreddine Nabi continues to work on improving his team. Du Preez believes he has what it takes to get more than 20 goals for the Glamour Boys in the two seasons he will be with them.
‘As a player, you want to play for a better contract'
“As a player, you always play for a better contract. I am happy at the club. They have renewed me for two years, so I am pleased to be here for another two years. For those two years, I want to score more goals; I want to reach 20 plus goals; that's my aim for the two years I am going to spend here,” he stated.
On Wednesday night, Du Preez is expected to lead the team against Cape Town City in the Premier Soccer League at the FNB Stadium, and Du Preez has promised to make an impact.
“When I was still at Stellenbosch, I played a lot of friendlies against City and I know how they are as a team and I know a few people there, so I am motivated to do well against them. I always get that extra motivation when I play against Cape teams since I am also a Cape boy,” he concluded.
