Wandile Duba reveals what sets Nasreddine Nabi apart from other coaches

Kaizer Chiefs youngster Wandile Duba is happy to be working under coach Nasreddine Nabi who he says does not favour anyone when it comes to selection.

Duba is among Chiefs youngsters who have been handed opportunities by the new coach, with Mfundo Vilakazi and Mduduzi Shabalala, the other ones.

The 20-year-old says being young is not enough to get selected by Nabi who demands that everyone must work hard to earn a spot in the team.

Being young is not enough under coach Nabi

“Coach Nabi believes in players who work hard, not only youngsters,” Duba told the media, as quoted by iDiski Times. “If you work hard, he will play you regardless of if you are young or old.”

The utility player is also thrilled by the winning mentality of the Tunisian tactician who has been pushing his players to give every game respect regardless of whether it is a friendly or competitive tie.

Duba believes that is what sets Nabi aside, crediting him for changing the players’ mindset, as they aim for success.

“Coach is very different from the other coaches because he wants wins only. He doesn’t want a player that will relax after scoring, he wants hard workers,” he added.

Will Duba nail down a spot in the Chiefs first XI?

Duba recently revealed how Nabi has changed his game, turning him from a centre-forward to a player who can play on the wing, or even as a wingback, as witnessed during their clash against Mamelodi Sundowns last month.

The youngster was promoted to the senior team in December 2022 after impressing in the DStv Diski Challenge and after a blistering start, he has saw his opportunities reduced.

However, Nabi has given him opportunities and he will hope to repay his coach with impressive performances.
