Former Orlando Pirates striker Kermit Erasmus has hinted at a potential return to the Betway Premiership, having been without a club since parting ways with the Buccaneers at the end of last season.
The 34-year-old forward, who recently trained with Cape Town Spurs without securing a contract, has been heavily linked with Chippa United, who are looking to bolster their attacking options following the departure of Elmo Kambindu to AmaZulu FC.
Erasmus expressed his desire to play closer to home, stating that he would be delighted to perform in front of his family and relatives.
Notably, Chippa United is the only DStv Premiership club based in Erasmus' hometown of Port Elizabeth.

ERASMUS TO CHIPPA UNITED DONE DEAL?
“This is my first time being at home since I left home in the early 2000s, when I left home to join the (SuperSport United) academy. It's been almost 20 years,” Erasmus said on SoccerBeat YouTube Channel as quoted by KickOff.
“It's been great, having to train also in a group setting, it's something l've missed. It's not easy training on your own, motivating yourself.
“So, having a team I can train with and hopefully join … you never know… it's a huge possibility. it would be nice to play in front of my cousins, my aunts, friends I grew up with, because they haven't really seen me live that often.
“Having that opportunity is something I'm looking forward to and hoping it will materialize.”
