Former Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana midfielder Reneilwe “Yeye” Letsholonyane is among the men plotting the downfall of Lesotho in two friendly matches that will be played this weekend.

The South Africa U20 men’s national team (Amajita) will play their first international friendly matches on Friday and Sunday in Maseru and the side is led by highly-qualified coaches among them Letsholonyane, who is serving as assistant, to Raymond Mdaka.

The technical bench also has assistant coach Karabo Mogudi, video analyst Thabo Mnyamane and goalkeeper coach Morne Crumpton.

What are Letsholonyane’s qualifications?

Ex-Chiefs star Letsholonyane holds the Caf A licence, the second highest qualification on the continent, which allows him to handle a PSL club, and joined the Amajita setup in March having previously worked as the AmaZulu U17 coach.

Amajita travelled to Lesotho on Thursday ahead of the matches which will serve as part of their preparations for the 2024 COSAFA U20 Championships set to take place in September.

The squad is, however, without former SuperSport United star Shandre Campbell who recently moved to Club Brugge of Belgium.

Campbell will play for the club’s second-string side, Club NXT, and the Belgian side requested his exclusion from camp to focus on the upcoming campaign.
