Ex-Chiefs man backed to ‘be in high demand’ again at the end of the season

Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Kgaogelo Sekgota has been backed to revive his career and be “in high demand” again at end of the season.

Sekgota recently joined Betway Premiership newcomers Magesi FC, bolstering the Limpopo side's squad for its first top-flight campaign.

He had been a free agent after being released by Stellenbosch FC in the mid-season due to disciplinary issues.

Magesi head coach Clinton Larsen says he has given Sekgota a new role, distinct from his previous positions at Chiefs, Bidvest Wits, Moroka Swallows, and Stellenbosch.

Larsen asserts that the left-footer will shine in the league and be a sought-after player by season's end.

CLINTON ON FORMER CHIEFS WINGER – ‘HE WILL SET THE LEAGUE ALIGHT’

“I have watched KG at three previous teams; at Wits, at Kaizer Chiefs, as well as Stellenbosch, and one thing that was consistent was that he played on the left-hand side,” said Larsen as per KickOff.

“What did he do? He beat his man and crossed the ball.

“I've put him in a different position this season because I feel his skill set will allow much more than just cross the ball.

“So, I believe he's going to set the league alight. I honestly do, based on what I have seen ano based on just the adjustments we have made in terms of the position he is going to play this season; he will not be playing as left winger.

“I believe his skill set is stifled to a certain extent; he doesn't have a right foot so cutting inside doesn't really help him.

“So, I'm really looking forward to what he delivers and I won't be surprised if he is one of the players who will be in high demand at the end of the current season.”
