Former Kaizer Chiefs star Junior Khanye has dropped a bold a statement on Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos.

Speaking after Bafana Bafana's 2-0 win against Benin in their World Cup qualifier in Ivory Coast, Junior Khanye praised Hugo Broos' impact on the national team.

However, Khanye also opined that Broos has shifted his coaching philosophy, attributing this change to the style and quality of players he selects from Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates.

KHANYE – BROOS’ PHILOSOPHY WAS NOT THIS WAY

“When Hugo Broos came to South Africa, he was not playing this way. His philosophy was not this way,” said Khanye on iDiskiTV.

“He has learnt. Thanks to Orlando Pirates they have helped him bringing [Nkosinathi] Sibisi. Taking the best out of Sibisi. Also the boy [Relebohile] Mofokeng, [Thalente] Mbatha, Patrick [Maswanganyi].

“Thanks to Sundowns as well. Both Pirates and Sundowns I think they’ve helped the coach to achieve his goal.

“Both teams have helped the coach in the understanding of the players.”

Broos has 23 wins, 13 draws and six defeats in 42 games at Bafana.
