Ex-Chiefs striker – ‘We will meet Sundowns pound for pound’

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker David Radebe has made bold statements ahead Amakhosi clash with Mamelodi Sundowns in the Nedbank Cup semifinal.

The two sides will face off on Sunday, 13 April at the Loftus Versfeld Stadium at 6 PM, batting for a spot in the final.

The two teams have played three times this season, with Masandawana winning all three matches.

Radebe predicts a 120-minute draw, with the match decided by penalties. He believes Chiefs, despite being underdogs, can match Sundowns, the favorites.

He also claims past Sundowns victories over Chiefs were influenced by unfair refereeing.

RADEBE CLAIMS PAST SUNDOWNS WINS OVER CHIEFS WERE INFLUENCED BY POOR REFEREEING

“Sunday's game will finish in a draw, it will be decided on penalty shoot-outs or in extra-time,” Radebe told KickOff.

“Kaizer Chiefs performs well against Sundowns, they perform against Sundowns.

“Chiefs can easily match Sundowns pound for pound; they not winning convincingly against Chiefs, they benefit from the referees' mistakes.

“Our referees sometimes are not fair, Chiefs can easily go to the final.

“Chiefs, they do create scoring chances if Ashley Du Preez is playing, he always performs well against big teams.

“I believe Chiefs will surprise us this time around. The reason they are struggling to score is because they panic once in possession, they score with their hearts.”
