Ex-Chiefs winger set for new challenge in second-tier

Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Kgaogelo Sekgota is set for a new challenge following his departure from the Betway Premiership side Magesi FC.

Sekgota's tenure with the Limpopo-based Magesi FC proved short-lived, lasting only six months despite him joining at the beginning of their current campaign.

Magesi had hoped his arrival would bolster their squad for their debut season in the top flight, following their promotion.

However, Sekgota struggled to secure a consistent place in the starting line-up.

Sekgota has been in training with Upington City for a period exceeding two weeks.

The club's head coach, Brandon Truter, has stated that the “Bafana Ba Gucci” are making plans to secure Sekgota's signature in the near future.

UPINGTON IN PROCESS OF SIGNING TRUTER

“We are in the process of signing him,” confirms Truter as per KickOff.

“It was a setback for him to be released at his previous clubs, but we have him with us here and it is progressing well.

“If we get it right with him, he will serve a purpose not only for this season but even into the next.”
