Ex-Pirates coach makes MTN8 final prediction

Published on by

Former Orlando Pirates head coach Roger De Sa has made his prediction for the MTN8 final set to take place on Saturday between the Buccaneers and Stellenbosch FC.

The match will be played before the sold out crowd at the Moses Mabhida Stadium at 6 pm in Durban.

The Soweto giants will be out chasing their third consecutive MTN8 title, having claimed the trophy in the previous two seasons.

A victory would mark a historic achievement, making them the first team in the Premier Soccer League to accomplish this milestone and allowing them to retain the trophy permanently.

Meanwhile, Stellenbosch FC are striving for their second title in the top division, following their success in last year's Carling Knockout Cup.

De Sa believes that it will be a spectacle to behold considering the form of two teams.

However, he confidently predicted that Ezimnyama Ngenkani would emerge victorious.

ROGER DE SA – IF I WAS A BETTING MAN I WOULD…

“Ja, you got to say Orlando Pirates are favourites,” De Sa told KickOff.

“It's a big game. Pirates have improved, they got better and better in the last couple of years, so they will bring the fight to Stellenbosch.

“Stellies are underdogs, but they can always spring a surprise because they've got this fighting spirit and they believe in themselves, and as it's a final, it can go either way.

“But ja, if I was a betting man, I would bet on Pirates. But since it's a final, it can go either way; it's always the case with the finals; you will never know.

“My prediction is Pirates are favorites to win, so they might win by an odd goal.”
